Ireland's oldest private forestry business - first RDS Special Awards winner - 2006
WOODLAND has its origins in the late nineteen seventies. We provide forestry services. Our continued success is built on the integrity of our management approach, on the quality of our service and systems and on providing value for money. Our excellent team of professional and experienced foresters has solid technical, commercial and administrative backup.
We care for our customers
WOODLAND has a mission - using Ireland's natural advantage to manage the best, most profitable forests in Europe for customers who value excellence. As a landowner you should own, control and get full financial benefit from your forest asset - land and trees. We will enable you to do so. Current grant incentives offers opportunities for customers to pay more attention to plantation design and species diversification without seriously compromising financial return and we encourage this.
With comprehensive services
WOODLAND provides forestry planning, contracting and hands on woodland management services to timber growers, be they farmers or investors, big or small. We have considerable experience of the taxation of woodland income and capital including transfers and can assist in relation to valuations, litigation, compensation and family and succession issues.
We are responsible to the Community
WOODLAND is conscious of its responsibilities. We have been prominent in encouraging practical and positive attitudes towards forestry and environment. We have a long track record of working together with neighbours. We avail of local contractors and suppliers where possible.
And to the Sector
We are members of the Irish Timber Growers Association. John Phelan participates in the Forestry Liaison Group. He and Harry Rynn are on various working groups that aim to improve efficiencies or standards or develop markets. We contribute to useful surveys, reviews and grant scheme developments. A well developed sector focussed on commercial management of woodlands and high added value to timber is the best prospect for rural economic development and environmental enhancement in many parts of the country and by working with owners, development agencies and other businesses we hope that we do our part to foster that.
